I Am So Lucky!

I am so lucky.... because last night I went out to dinner with some friends from church for an impromptu Girl's Night Out. It was so much fun! We met up at Applebee's and ate lots of food and laughed a ton.

Katie, Deb, Laura, Rachel, Martha, Kathy

It was such a fun evening...great to catch up with friends and get to know some other ladies better. Laura has some more hilarious pictures from last night. You gotta love the many faces of Deb. In fact, I think we even talked Deb into starting her own blog...but will she? Who knows? Well, thanks for such a fun evening everyone. So much fun to see you all....I have not laughed that hard in a while! It was so worth the drive up to see you guys!

Yumm-O

I made the most
super yummy meatloaf
for dinner last night. Since I love bacon, I had to give this recipe a try. I mean really, meatloaf and bacon...what a great combo. Oh my goodness...it was so easy to make and turned out quite tasty. You can find the recipe here. Enjoy!

Do My Eyes Deceive Me...

So, I had to fill my car with gas today. When I got there I thought my eyes were deceiving me...regular unleaded gas was $3.98 at the gas station! I know it is stupid to get excited over something that is still ridiculously expensive, but I was. I don't remember the last time I saw gas for under $4.00 a gallon. It kinda made my day...especially since I drive an SUV!

Favorite Things

I am a bit behind on this one, but oh well...Saturday I also went to a favorite things party. Everyone brought a gift with some of their favorite things in it. We had a $30 limit, so we had to be selective and creative. Then at the party we ate, visited, and exchanged gifts. It was really fun to see what everyone brought. It was such a fun get together...got to catch up with some friends, and meet some new people. Thanks to the hostesses for such a fun (and super cute) party!

Reality

So, yesterday my sister flew home. She has been my sidekick for the last three weeks as we've been getting settled into our new place. She has helped me unpack, paint, find my way around this new area, and kept me company while Mark was gone. We've had so much fun! I will miss having her around...she makes for some good entertainment.
So now it is time to get out there and find me a fun job! You know how it goes...back to life and reality. Well, it will be good to be working and feeling more productive again. This break from working has been so much fun, but I am looking forward to experiencing more new and different things.

Dinner With My Peeps

Saturday night was tons of fun. I got to have dinner with all of my peeps from Corky's! We all went to dinner at McGrath's. The food was yummo...the company was awesome...and there was plenty of laughing to go around. It was so fun to visit and to catch up with everybody.
So, the other fun part of the evening was...
"Marie's Birthday Celebration!"
What a better way for her to celebrate than with all of her peeps, some free ice cream and a freakin' cool fish hat to boot.

What a stinkin' fun night! So fun to see everybody.
We missed you Megan!

*Note to self...in October when it is really Marie's birthday, DO NOT take her to McGrath's to celebrate!
***A few hours later*** So, I should probably clear something up. It really wasn't Marie's birthday. During dinner, "someone" thought it would be funny to tell our waitress that it was her birthday. We all agreed, but nobody wanted to do it. So "someone" told our waitress, and well, the deed was done. It was so funny, and Tim, don't worry, I will still take the fall for the whole thing. No one needs to know. Sorry McGrath's...I guess we owe you an ice cream. =)

Let's Go Fly A Kite

The days here have been kinda funny...warm, but very windy. So, Mark decided it was the perfect time to fly our kite out of our backyard. So we found our kite. Much to our dismay, the kite string handle was broken. What were we going to do?

Yup...Mark is using one of his fishing poles to fly our kite. Pretty ingenious of him. The fishing pole worked pretty well, especially for reeling in the kite. What a fun day. Hope everyone is having fun this summer!

Go Green

So, Mark has been in North Carolina since Sunday. Thank goodness my sister is bunking up with us for a couple of weeks, or I would be going out of my mind, not knowing anyone here yet. She has been fun company while Mark is gone. One of our projects of the week is painting my living room green. The whole house interior has been painted that "new house tan." Now, normally that would be super great, except our couch is basically that exact same color. So, green it is. It turned out great...we think anyways.

Anyways...one project down, and several to go. Every day this house is feeling more and more like home. Life in this small town is pretty good.

4th of July

Hope everyone had a fun 4th of July! We drove up to Salem and had a B-B-Q with Mark's whole family and with my parents and sister. It was fun to get everyone together. It isn't too often that we get the entire family together. All the little kiddos were so fun. Later that night we drove out to Stayton to stake out our spot for the fireworks show. We all hung out for a while before the fireworks began.

Then the fireworks started. They are always so fun to watch!

My Favorite...

Today was my last day of work. It was really weird to know that I am no longer working at Corky's Daughter after almost 5 years.
Friday, I was surprised with a party and a sale. Marie sneaked out a mailer to our entire mailing list, and a ton of people came in to say goodbye. There was also chocolate for everyone. We had chocolate cake, little candy bars, and personalized M&M's. It was such a fun day, and it was so very neat to see the support and well wishes from so many different people.

I also love all of the people that I work with. They are the best. I love that we are all so very different, yet we have all become great friends. They are so fun and I'm going to miss them.

When am I ever going to find another place where you have jokes about winning wig shampoo, you see and hear enough random things to start your own reality tv show(better than anything on tv...for sure!) and you get cool nicknames like Kateward or K-Diddy. I'm not sure how they came up with these, but Kateward has stuck for a long time. I am sure going to miss this place a ton. I can't wait to visit soon!
