Thursday Nights

Are you as excited as I am for this to start?

I feel like it has been way too long since I have seen an episode of The Office. This show is just too funny and I am so excited to have it be a part of my life again.

Wow...

What a whirlwind of a weekend. Friday night Steven, Alicia, and two of their kiddos met up with Mark and I after work and we drove through the night to Provo, UT. We were only going to be in Provo for one day, but that is all the time you need to go to a BYU football game! We rolled into Provo about 10:30 am and killed some time. Then it was the moment we were all waiting for...we arrived at Lavell Edwards Stadium...home of the good ol' BYU Cougars. We were so excited to be here. This was the first time that Steven, Alicia, and kids had been to a BYU football game. It was so much fun to be in the stadium with 65,000 other crazy fans cheering for the Cougs.

Before the game all of the players come out onto the field and they do the normal warm ups and they run through the plays and do whatever else they do. BYU players also do the HAKA.

It was a really nice day. Almost too warm. So we all tried to keep the sun off of us as much as we could. Mark and Orion got pretty creative in their attempts.

After the game we got to meet Cosmo and we got to see a couple of the football players as they were ringing the bell in front of the Marriott Center.

All in all, it was such a fun weekend. The game was a blast, and being able to go with Steven and Alicia made it even more fun. I wish we could go to every game. There is just something so fun about being there in the stadium yelling as loud as you can for your team. It's great! Saturday was actually my birthday and I couldn't think of a better way to spend it, or better company to spend it with. I also got to catch up with an old roommate from college. It was so fun to see you Jillaine...it had been way too long. We also got to spend the night with some great friends the Hardee's. We love them. They are the best. Oh yeah...the mountains. I can't forget to mention the mountains. They are beautiful. Can't get enough of them. Wish we lived closer to them! Mark and I would love to have them in our back yard.

It's crazy. I know this. Everybody knows this. So much driving in such a short amount of time. But despite all of that driving, I am excited to go on this whirlwind of a trip. It is going to be so much fun. Go Cougs!

I am sure most of you have seen this by now, but I couldn't resist...

It's so darn funny!

So Nice...

You know how it is when you first move somewhere new...especially when you are at a new ward for church. Everyone is really nice. They are so friendly and everybody introduces themselves to you. They make sure you never sit alone in Relief Society. You even get a few invites for dinner or to just hang out. Some will even stop by with treats to welcome you. Most importantly, they are really excited to have some new people to pick on for callings. It really is kind of an ego boost if you think about it. So many people have told us how happy they are to have us in the ward. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Then a couple of months later, you can actually call several people that you see in the hall by name and you know who their spouse is...which is a huge accomplishment. You both have callings...Primary and Elder's Quorum Secretaries for the two of us. Then, all of a sudden you realize that you aren't just one of the new couples in the ward anymore, but that you are a part of the ward. Even though there is still a ton of things to figure out, you belong. That is where we are right now.

It's a really nice place to be in.
Tonight our ward had a "New Member Social." Everyone could come and meet all of the new folks. We probably have 6-7 new young families/couples that have moved into the ward in the last 2 months. So, we went and had a really good time. There were a lot of people there, and we were able to visit with most all of them. A lot of people thanked us for moving in...I think it was because it gave them an excuse to throw a party.

It's Here!

Ok...so it's been here for a couple of weeks now, but...It's time for BYU Football! My hubby is quite the happy camper now that we got Direct TV and he can watch every BYU football game this season. He sure loves those Cougars. We live near Eugene, and are surrounded by Oregon Duck fans. But, when BYU plays, we are usually decked out in Cougar Blue and we have our little BYU flag flying proudly on our car. Our flag might be flying solo, but it is flying proud! This week we play UCLA. At home. We're totally going to win.

While we are really excited to watch the game at home, we really wish we were here instead!

It was so much fun to see everyone on this trip. The only thing that would have made it perfect is if Mark could have been there. It was fun to hang out at Sarah and Riley's house. I loved their huge backyard! Jaxon and Sammie are two funny kids...oh and I am totally their favorite aunt! I miss them already, and I can't wait to see them again at Christmas. I was able to stuff three bottles of that Brazilian soda in my suitcase to fly home to Mark...He sure was a happy camper. I can't believe Emily is officially a college student now. I am excited and kinda jealous of her and all of the fun experiences she is going to have in the next few years at BYU-I. I was starting school there 10 years ago...way back when it was still Ricks College. Being back on campus was really fun, but I feel so old when I see all of the new freshman. They are so young. Well, good luck in school Emily. I am excited to hear about everything that is going on. Thanks for housing all of us Sarah and Riley...it was so fun to see you guys.

I'm Back...

Well, it is really nice to be home. I even got to sleep on a real bed last night. It was fun to be back in Idaho for a few days. It was such a great trip. I loved seeing family (especially the kiddos), BYU-I, temples, pretty waterfalls, and just getting to hang out. It was kinda sad to leave yesterday...we were having so much fun together. But, I was so glad to get home and see my hubby again. I missed him. He even suprised me at the airport! What a great guy. Well, now it is back to life and the real world. Gotta go and get ready for work.

10 Years

Idaho here I come! I am so excited for this trip. 10 years ago I was on my way up to Ricks College for the first time. Now it is BYU-I and I am heading there to help my youngest sister get settled in. I can't believe how fast those 10 years have gone by. It will be so fun to see lots of family and to visit good ol' Rexburg. I am really looking forward to seeing the new changes on campus... and I am really excited to see the Rexburg Temple...

I also think I might be able to sneak a bottle or two of this home for Mark... hopefully I can fit some in my suitcase....It is this really good Brazilian soda that Mark had on his mission. He loves it. It kinda tastes like apple soda, I guess. We can never find this anywhere but the grocery store in Rexburg carries it. Hooray!

The Fair

This weekend Mark and I went to the

Oregon State Fair.

I know this is going to be hard to believe, but I have NEVER been to a fair before. Crazy, huh...the State Fair in Cali was a couple of hours away, and we just never went to our county fair. So, there I was finally at my very first fair. We all had such a great time. We went with Steven & Alicia, Priss & Hero, Celinda, Marilyn, and the kiddos. Having the kids there with us really made it so much more fun. Everything they saw was so exciting to them. It was really cute. So, of course we had to see all the animals. Here's a few...the little piggies were cute...the llamas didn't spit at all...bummer huh...and we actually pet that little alligator!

We had to see all of the exhibits...play on the rock walls with the kids...and we danced in the street to the way awesome music.

To finish off our fun evening, we rode "The Big Chairs" to the entrance. It was pretty cool...kinda like a giant ski lift that went across the entire fair. Orion and I were buddies at the fair(He made me the coolest necklace ever!) and he was my partner on this ride. He loved it. I know I was way more nervous about dangling up above everything than he was. It was really cool though, once I got used to it. We got to see all of the rides and shows and lights from up above. It was sad once the ride ended because it meant that it was time to get ready to go home.



What a fun time we had. Good food, great company, and loads of entertainment. I am so glad Steven and Alicia invited us to come up. Thanks for the extra tickets. I can honestly say that it was the best fair I have ever been to...ever!
